Within seconds, you get a clear, easy-to-read safety report that highlights any concerning substances, explains their relevance, and confirms what’s safe to use during pregnancy. SafeMom’s mission is to empower expecting parents to make informed choices without memorizing complex chemical names or searching through endless online lists.
Our Story
The idea for SafeMom began in a tiny apartment bathroom during our founder Jamie’s first pregnancy. Faced with a crowded shelf of lotions, creams, and makeup, she realized she had no practical way to know which ingredients to avoid. Online lists of “do not use” chemicals were full of scientific terms that looked more like tongue twisters than something she could recall on a trip to the pharmacy.
One morning, staring at yet another unreadable label, Jamie wished out loud, “If only I could take a picture and get a straight answer.” That wish became a plan. Leaning on her background as a registered dietitian, she got to work designing an AI powered solution that anyone with a smartphone could use. The result of that hard work was SafeMom.
About Our Founder
Jamie holds a masters degree in nutrition sciences and has worked with countless patients through evidence based dietary and lifestyle changes. Her work in hospitals and clinics gave her firsthand insight into the anxieties parents face when navigating health information. Recognizing the growing role of digital tools in personal well-being, she completed additional training in data analytics and user experience design before launching SafeMom.
